Chris Exley

Senior Project Architect

Chris gained his Parts I and II at Bath University before moving back to East Anglia in 1984, achieving his Part III and registering as an architect in 1986. With extensive experience across many sectors – including residential development, one-off houses, higher education, commercial and defence – as well as most procurement routes, Chris relishes the variety of projects at Stanley Bragg. He joined the practice in 2019 as Senior Project Architect and enjoys the ‘office buzz’ and the professionalism of his new colleagues.

Chris maintains his commitment to employing sustainability as an essential component of design, born out of his experience designed ‘eco homes’ and other highly sustainable projects, plus his few years as a BREEAM Assessor. He welcomes the opportunity to deliver well-resolved solutions to a defined brief, and with a little bit ‘extra’. Pragmatism and team work are essential to meet the clients’ aims and aspirations.

Always keen on sports and the outdoors, Chris continues to run cross country and at Parkrun in order to stay fit. Camping and hill walking are attempted from time to time and Chris recently returned to a 1980’s passion – hang gliding.
