New build teaching block

The brief was to develop a stand alone building with additional teaching and learning facilities, along with a new multi-use play area (MUPA). The project timescales were challenging with a 12 month period to design and construct a £1.8m building. 

The project was a very rapid turnaround and delivery, with a project time of just under 12 months from appointment through to completion, including the planning and building control processes.

The design team had a defined strategy and approach to structure and servicing, with the servicing meeting the daylighting and overheating requirements. By working with the Contractor team throughout the design process was very effective in understanding the buildability issues of the site , with access, deliveries all being constrained so selection of construction elements and delivery organisation was key, especially with the use of off-site manufacturing with timber frame construction.
